Division and Playing Age Information

Elk Grove Youth Baseball has seven (7) playing divisions ranging from 4 1/2 to 15 years old. Please review these divisions and check the appropriate box while registering and/or submitting a coaching application. Additionally, you can review the EGYB Rules (located under Downloads) for more specifics regarding the league structure.

PREP DIVISION - 13 & 14 year olds (PONY) (If offered)
13 and 14 year olds only

 MAJOR DIVISION - 11 & 12 year olds (CAL RIPKEN)

11 and 12 year olds only
50/70 field size

For the more advanced 11 and 12 year olds (dictated by the draft)

 - Predominately 10 year olds (CAL RIPKEN)

 - Predominately 9 year olds (CAL RIPKEN) 
9 and 10 year olds only (all remaining 9 - 10’s not drafted into Minor Division)

AA DIVISION
 - Predominately 8 year olds (CAL RIPKEN) 
8 year olds and drafted 7 year olds
